Forecasting Summit 2003 to be Held in Boston
Unique Annual Conference Brings Together Business Forecasting
Professionals
Belmont, MA—June 23, 2003—Business Forecast Systems,
Inc. (BFS) has announced that the Forecasting Summit 2003 will be
held in Boston, Massachusetts on September 10-12, 2003. The conference,
which brings together forecasters from a wide range of industries
and disciplines to share experiences and learn about the latest
developments in forecasting, is presented by BFS in cooperation
with the International Institute of Forecasters.
The conference features a variety of session formats—seminars,
workshops, tutorials, round tables, case studies, hands-on software
sessions, practitioner presentations and open discussions—as
well as social events to provide attendees the opportunity to network
with other forecasting professionals. Forecasting practitioners
from companies such as Heineken USA, Pfizer, Bell Canada and Imation
Corporation will share their experiences and world-class experts
from institutions including the Wharton School and the College of
William and Mary will be speaking to practitioners about how to
improve forecasting performance.
Among the topics to be covered at the conference are:
- Forecasting market share;
- Improving forecast accuracy;
- Forecasting demand for new products and services;
- Implementing a collaborative forecasting process; and
- Presenting forecasts to management.
Two keynote addresses will be delivered at the conference. Dr. Nariman
Behravesh, Chief Economist and Managing Director of Global Insight
(formerly DRI-WEFA) will present “Peering Through the Fog:
The Challenge of Forecasting in a Highly Uncertain World.”
Dr. Robert Fildes, President of the International Institute of Forecasters
will answer the question “Forecasters—What Makes Them
Tick (Effectively)?”
“We are pleased to be adding pre-conference workshops to the
agenda at this year’s Forecasting Summit,” said Eric
Stellwagen, vice president of BFS. “This new expanded format
allows conference attendees to get in-depth instruction on key topics
such as regression forecasting and trading partner collaboration
(CPFR).”
